Sending any piece of software through your proxy with Proxifier

Proxifier intercepts traffic from apps that have no proxy setting — a game client, a business tool, a compiled scraper — and sends it to your proxy.

update Updated

When Proxifier is the right tool

Most software has no "proxy" field at all. A browser does. A Discord client, a compiled Telegram bot, a game, an accounting tool: no. Proxifier sits underneath the application, at system level, and diverts its connections.

It is also the only clean way to route one single application through the proxy while leaving the rest of the machine on your normal connection.

Step-by-step setup

1. Declare the proxy

ProfileProxy Servers…Add.

Field What you enter
Address frproxy.com
Port your SOCKS5 port (e.g. 15002)
Protocol SOCKS Version 5
Authentication ticked, then your panel username and password

Click Check: Proxifier tests the connection right away. There is no point working around a failure here — it will only come back later.

2. Choose what goes through the proxy

ProfileProxification Rules.

The Default rule applies to everything. Two ways to use it:

  • Send everything through: set DefaultProxy SOCKS5 frproxy.com.
  • One application only: leave Default on Direct and add a rule above it with Applications: chrome.exeAction: Proxy. Order matters: the first matching rule wins, and Default is always last.

3. Check

The log at the bottom of the window shows every connection and which way it left. That is the most direct proof there is: if an application does not appear in the log, it is not going through the proxy, whatever your configuration claims.

The trap that costs you an evening

Proxifier does not divert UDP traffic by default, nor system service traffic. Software using QUIC (HTTP/3) can therefore go out direct with nothing to signal it. If in doubt, force the application onto HTTP/2 or block QUIC in the firewall: the application will fall back to TCP, which Proxifier does see.

Second trap: Proxifier does not divert its own connections, nor those of Windows Update. That is deliberate — otherwise one bad rule would cut you off from your own machine.

Strengths and limits

Works with any software, even without a proxy setting Paid (but a lifetime licence, no subscription)
Fine-grained rules by application, port and destination One active profile at a time: no parallel separate contexts
Real-time log, very readable for diagnosis UDP and QUIC need watching
Leaves no trace in the browser (nothing to install page-side) Windows and macOS only

What Proxifier does NOT do

It changes nothing about your browser fingerprint. Same mobile IP, same Canvas, same User-Agent, same fonts. Proxifier routes traffic; it does not compartmentalise contexts. Those are two distinct needs and it only covers the first. The second is what an antidetect browser is for — see AdsPower, Dolphin{anty} or BitBrowser.
